10 ways to start your fitness journey!

1. Set a goal

Starting with a simple and achievable goal is a great way to stay motivated and build momentum. It's all about setting yourself up for success. When you accomplish that goal, it gives you a sense of achievement and fuels your motivation to reach for even more. So, what's a goal you have in mind you can start working towards? Let's make it happen!

2. Find your Fitness gang

Working out alone can sometimes feel boring, and let's be honest, we tend to push ourselves harder when we're in a group setting. Whether it's with a group of friends, neighbors, coworkers, or anyone who's willing to join, having that support system can make workouts more enjoyable and keep you motivated. Not only will you have fun, but you'll also hold each other accountable, stay committed, consistent, and motivated. SO gather your squad and let's make fitness an exciting group adventure!

3. Find an exercise you enjoy doing and make it fun

Fitness doesn't have to be boring at all!! If you find an exercise that you enjoy, it makes all the difference. When you actually like what you're doing, it keeps you motivated and consistent, which is super important for reaching your fitness goals. Having a positive mindset towards exercise and having fun with it makes more likely that you'll stick with your fitness program for the long haul. So, keep doing what you enjoy and make fitness a fun and exciting part of your routine!

4. Find a routine that works for YOU

It is crucial to prioritize your fitness and make it a non-negotiable part of your schedule. Just like any other important appointment, block out dedicated time for your workouts on your calendar. By investing in yourself and setting aside specific time for exercise, you're less likely to get sidetracked or have last-minute interruptions. Treat your workout time with the same importance as any other commitment, and you'll find it easier to stay consistent and focused on your training. Lock it in and make fitness a priority!

5. Listen to motivational videos and make a bomb playlist

The days I have 0 motivation I like to listen to motivational videos from YouTube before going. It's a total game changer, the way those videos are set up with the visuals, background music and the messages in them gets me right back up and keen to smash out that day's workout. As for that bomb playlist, you want to have that playlist ready to go so you’re not standing there shuffling through the music looking for the perfect pump up song during your workout. Having a bomb playlist set up ready to go motivates and pumps you up to keep smashing out those sets.

6. Be flexible

We all live busy lives and sometimes we can’t make that certain afternoon fitness class or workout. Some days are more draining than others and mentally/physically we just don’t feel up to it so don’t feel guilty, take a break and give yourself that time to reset for the next day. The most important thing is that you get back to it and don’t stop completely.

7. Track your progress

Having a visual record of how far you've come on your fitness journey is a powerful motivator to keep pushing forward and smashing those goals. Tracking your progress not only shows you where you currently stand physically, but it also helps you identify if any adjustments are needed in your workouts. It's all about staying in tune with your body and making those necessary changes to keep progressing towards your fitness aspirations. So, keep that progress tracker handy and keep crushing it!

8. Prioritize proper nutrition to fuel your body

Fueling your body with the proper nutrition is key to living a healthier life. Start by planning your meals ahead of time, focusing on whole foods like fruits, veggies, lean proteins, whole grains, and healthy fats. Don't forget to stay hydrated and limit processed foods. Portion control and listening to your body's hunger and fullness cues are also important. If you need more guidance, consider consulting with a registered dietitian or nutritionist. Remember, small changes can make a big difference in your overall health and well-being!

9. Reward yourself

You’ve smashed your Fitness goal? Stayed consistent? Stuck to that healthy eating plan? Whatever it is you’ve achieved in your Fitness journey go ahead and reward yourself, you deserve it! Just be sure to choose your rewards wisely.

10. Love yourself

We are not perfect, and we all are at different stages of our fitness journeys but no matter where you are just remember to embrace self-love. Love yourself enough to work towards becoming the best, healthiest and fittest version of you. YOU DESERVE IT!
